YIN YOGA - BREATH-WORK - MANTRA - GONG BATH – LIGHT SUPPER – COMMUNITY - CONNECTION
Hosted by Ali & Fran
After we have harvested the fruits of the year, Autumn begins the process of release; it's an opportunity to honour all that has passed, while accepting its impermanence. A returning to the source of what we no longer need. Lightly the trees shed their leaves; nature is spiralling inwards to the more yin qualities of quiet, dark & stillness.
In Chinese medicine (by which Yin Yoga is much informed) this is the Metal phase; symbolised by the large intestine and the lungs, which can harbour grief, sadness & resistance to letting go. The elements of nature resonate with our inner qualities: the alchemy of purification, beauty and acceptance.
In this season's practise we work with the breath to shine light on where are holding in the body, focusing on the out-breath as a means to release and free up our energies; following the natural mantra of the breath towards a quiet recognition of our deepest selves.
Flow of the day:
Our opening circle invites seasonal sharing and centring, before moving into a yin yoga sequence for the large intestine and lungs. The yin way is to surrender into the poses for longer, mindfully; stimulating the flow of life force to the vital organs. From here the gongs and other sacred sounds slow the brainwaves and soothe the nervous system into a state of meditation, healing & transformation.
We ground and chat over a light supper (raw, gluten free, plant-based & organic) created by Moody Mango Raw Cuisine. Eating consciously and consuming fresh ingredients in line with the seasons is the basis for the body to renew and heal itself.
The day concludes with a closing & sharing circle (speaking is always optional). We’ll send you home with a practise & recipe card for the season so you may continue this work at home.
Resonant Retreats is all about creating conscious connections with the seasons, self and like minded community. Regaining our natural resonance through yoga, sound & food. All are welcome!
