In the wheel of the year, Autumn’s turn is about letting go. After the abundance of summer has been harvested we preserve our energies for the void of winter.
Lightly the trees shed their leaves and the air becomes crisp and pure; nature is spiralling inwards towards the yin qualities of quiet, dark & stillness. This seasonal transition invites us to contemplate what best serves our wellbeing right now and what we can let go of.
The elements of nature resonate with our inner qualities. In Chinese medicine (by which Yin Yoga is much informed) this is the Metal phase; symbolised by the large intestine and the lungs, which govern both drawing in and releasing.
Full of nourishment, opportunities for stillness and supportive community we invite you to take time out and connect to what is precious within.
Flow of the day:
Our opening circle invites seasonal sharing and centring, before moving into a yin yoga sequence guided by Ali; targeting the large intestine and lungs as well as exploring space in the hips.
The yin way is to surrender into the poses for longer, mindfully; stimulating the flow of life force to the vital organs. The breath helps us understand where we might be holding on and how we can invite a sense of release, both physically and emotionally.
From shavasana we simply let go into the vibrations of the gongs and other sacred sounds; slowing the brainwaves and soothing the nervous system into a state of meditation, healing & transformation.
Our light supper is created by raw food chef Fran (Moody Mango Raw Cuisine)*. Autumn is full of riches as we move from the harvest of summer fruits into an abundance of root veg. This season we support warmth and grounding with a quinoa soul bowl and super food tonic, plus Fran’s famous raw carrot cake.
The day concludes with a closing & sharing circle (speaking is always optional).

Please advise in advance: if you are pregnant, have any hearing or heart issues, any injuries or health conditions which affect your practise.
Yoga equipment is provided, please bring a small cushion for your head & a scarf to shade your eyes during gong; wear comfortable, warm layers of clothing and leave 2.5hrs between eating and yoga practise.
*All our menus are gluten free, 100% plant based (vegan) and organic where possible. Please advise of any special dietary requirements in advance.
